“Echo of Silence” examines traumatic experiences with a photographic approach of
abandoned places that have influenced generations passing on sorrow and despair.
The first location a defunct lung sanatorium has been run by two Jewish doctors. The Nazis
took over and used it as a birthing centre to improve the Nordic race. The other location
was a gunpowder factory with the main objective to produce lethal destruction. With a
growing right wing movement in Europe, it is more important than ever to remember and
prevent society from forgetting. My Generation will be the last one that is able to speak to
people who are still alive that survived the Second World War.
