La fotógrafa china Tam Hoy Ying, alumni de la pasada edición del Máster en Fotografía y Diseño de ELISAVA, ha ganado el Premio Internacional de Fotografía World Biennal of Student Photography.
Lo ha hecho con su Trabajo Final de Máster, “Being Disappeared”, una propuesta ideada para aumentar la conciencia por los derechos humanos en la China. En este sentido, la autora reúne un conjunto de imágenes para desafiar la paradoja existente en la ley para proteger y suprimir las libertades de las personas, a la vez que ponen en cuestión la fragilidad del régimen chino.
Una reflexión que lanza ideas y preguntas como estas:Cuando la libertad de opinión y de expresión implica provocar la subversión del poder estatal;Cuando la libertad política implica poner en peligro la seguridad del estato;Cuando la libertad de reunión implica alterar el orden público;Cuando la libertad de pensamiento implica provocar delitos;Cuando la policía se convierte en nuestro enemigo y la ley, en el arma del gobierno para violar los derechos humanos;¿En qué podemos confiar para que nos proteja?
The Chinese photographer Tam Hoy Ying, an alumni of the last edition of ELISAVA’s Master in Photography and Design, has won the international award World Biennal of Student Photography. She has won it thanks to her final project at the Master, “Being Disappeared”, a proposal thought to increase awareness for human rights in China. In this regard, the author joins a set of images to challenge the existing paradox between a law that aims to protect and abolish freedom, and the fragility of the Chinese regime.
It is a reflection that questions this sort of things:
When freedom of opinion and expression means inciting the subversion of state power;When freedom of political means endangering the safety of state;When freedom of gathering means disrupting public order;When freedom of thoughts means provoking crimes;When the police become our enemy and the law becomes the weapon for the government to violate human right;What can we rely on to protect us?
